Did you know that guided methods improves your well-being and helps direct you in your personal life? Just like speaking words of affirmations and positivity to yourself daily, writing holds a power beyond measure. A Daily Dose of You has been designed just for that purpose.
I journaled my way through life by pouring all those wounds into one book at a time. My first journal was a pink, fabric journal made for little girls. I was around 7–9 years old. What a journey!
Three years ago, I emptied all my journals: time to get a new one! Little did I know that I had started scrapping in that pink, fabric journal.
After months of looking online for something similar to what I once used to have, I realized there was a lack of it in the market. It was my very first real book where I wrote and framed anything in. Nowhere on the internet did I find something even close to that journal. And so the mission began. I started designing simple sketches here and there. That’s when I decided it was about time I designed a journal of my own.
My only goal was to design what that pink-fabric journal gave me: lots of space to scratch my deepest thoughts inside my head into pages of words and just simply… everything I think of that causes my mental health to spiral. Romance or heartache, work relations, anxiety and stress-related worries, family matters, thoughts on friendship, etc. THEN turn them into my favors.
I get really messy when I write and document whatever the mind lingers on. Names, noted. The exact moment someone makes me feel triggered, noted. I know myself and all of the many situations I find myself in, extremely well. Even when I forget about my shortcomings, I am quick to remind myself of what actually happened because I already wrote it down.
Writing also helps the mind with memory loss. A guided way of reflecting is what everyone needs. Not only am I quick to catch patterns of toxicity, but also positive enlightenment of good attributes to myself and others.
Writing grounds us. The pen is so underrated and can never compare to a keyboard.
The moment you start writing with your pen, you release yourself from chains that you didn’t even know you were held back with. Those mental chains got an invisible grip on us all. It’s time we release it so we get to clear our minds to focus on what matters the most.
I remember while living in Los Angeles, I spent lots of time around successful people who also happened to be talented.
Two details about them that they all had in common: focus on their over-all health, genuinely, and they all have an outlet for managing their lives through guided health-programs (usually on the pricier side). Talented individuals who create and form beautiful spaces to further inspire their communities.
Maybe the problem isn’t that you don’t have potential. Maybe you haven’t yet discovered how to understand yourself
The only difference between my first journal in life and this one is that I have matured a lot since I was 8… well, thank God that happened. So, this one is for the mature version of where we are in life today.
There are hints of my 8-year-old self in this journal. For example, the empty boxed spaces designed for the pen to move freely. The motivational quotes give you a push to continue your journey. Self-care free-space pages to write down your state of mental well-being. There are pages designed just for the sole purpose of manifesting something you deem impossible every now and then.
There are pages designed to help you develop self-love by ticking off some boxes through writing about your strengths and about yourself. In the end of the book, you get to write a letter to yourself. Some pages are there to keep reminding yourself of everything you pack, so there’s no lacking here.
Once you «forget» the journey of this guided journaling method, come back and read your work. It is guaranteed some positive change will occur once you finish the whole journal.
There is no right way to journal, you just start. A guided self-care journal keeps you forced to acknowledge all of your strengths. Each page encourages you to develop high levels of confidence. Best of all, no one has access to your drawer, so it’s just between you and you.
I hope you enjoy your journey of developing a real connection to who you are and all of your best qualities with A Dose of You. Good luck, or shall I say, good-writing!
20+ years of journaling
I was 7 years old when I first started journaling. I still have my first journal. It´s fun reading through everything I wrote at the time. I used to paste family photos in the journal, cutting them to my liking and gluing them inside. Then I´d writing short quotes for memorization purposes.
As my teenage years began, I wrote even more. I journaled about my days, dreams & plans and of course deep emotions. After social media took over around 2016, I transitioned more to digital journaling. Despite this, I still had countless notebooks and journals. One time I journaled (manifestos) so extensively that I co-founded travel agency. It was the first—a travel agency—when I was around 16-17 years old. That’s how powerful writing and journaling can be. You really do end up manifesting what you write daily.
The pen is so powerful, surpassing digital journaling when you write with intention. Every side hustle and business I’ve managed happened while I was journaling in those directions. You reveal so much and this can manifest easily when you journal daily or weekly. It’s incredibly powerful.
Do you realize the power a pen holds?
Becoming a natural writer does not require a guide as there is no right way. Just write with purpose and intention. Or don´t. Afterall it is your pen.
