It’s been a month since I last updated the blog. I’ve missed connecting with all of you and writing here. This is the longest I’ve been away from the blog since I started it last spring. I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration.
As I’m writing this, there’s a massive snowstorm outside. I can hear the wind howling continuously. To be honest, it’s calming at first, but after a week, you start to get sick (literally) and tired of the storms.
Now, without further attempts at complaining, let’s dive into the first blog post of 2025.
20 Years of Journaling
I was 6 years old when I first started journaling. I still have my first journal, and it makes me happy to read through everything I wrote during that time. I used to paste family photos in the journal, cutting them to my liking, gluing them in, and writing short sentences or quotes about those specific memories.
As my teenage years began, I wrote even more. I journaled about my days, how I felt, and random thoughts. After social media took over around 2016, I transitioned more to digital journaling. Despite this, I still had countless notebooks and goal-oriented journals. One time, I journaled so extensively in one specific goal journal that I accidentally co-founded a business. It was my first—a travel agency in my local area—when I was around 16-17 years old. That’s how powerful writing and journaling can be. You end up manifesting what you write daily. The pen is so powerful, surpassing digital journaling when you write with intention. Every side hustle and business I’ve managed to start happened while I was journaling. You reveal so much and this can manifest easily when you journal daily or weekly. It’s incredibly powerful, and not many people realize the power a pen holds. But I’m here to break it all down for you, step by step. You don’t have to be a natural writer to journal the right way. I’ll teach you how to write with purpose and intention in this article.
Digital VS Physical Journaling
In the last three years, I’ve successfully combined digital and physical journaling. I have periods where I prefer digital journaling because it allows me to brainstorm my thoughts easily from anywhere. My mind is very colorful and creative filled with anything valuable to me. It’s practical to pick up my phone on a flight somewhere or in a café and jot down my thoughts, emotions, or goals at the moment.
However, physical journaling is where the magic often happens. This method has been incredibly beneficial throughout my life, starting when I was around 6 years old. I can reveal that just by journaling in a physical book, I’ve manifested nearly every prayer and duaa I’ve made. When asking God for blessings, specificity is key. For instance, if you want a prestigious career, like working in a law firm, tell God about your current life, your passions, and your goals. Even though Allah knows everything, He wants you to acknowledge where you are in life and show gratitude to your current situation.
Journal With Faith
Communicate with God before asking for what you want. Build a relationship with Him (SWT) first. Then consult with God and ask Him what direction is best for you. Guidance is priceless. Lastly, tell Allah what you want in detail and explain how you plan to achieve it. When breaking down your thoughts to God, avoid desperation—you don’t want to manifest desperation into your life. Trust that He takes you seriously and will answer your prayers.
If Allah doesn’t give you what you asked for, He will replace your desires with something better that you hadn’t even considered. God gives you what He knows you can handle, grow with, and find happiness in. When He answers your prayers, He prepares you for the blessing. For example, if you want to work in a law firm, He might send challenges your way to develop your problem-solving skills or put you in situations with different kinds of educated people to grow your intellect. This process can take time, depending on the individual. So, do not compare your journey with others. Trust the process and be open to His plan.

Learn MoreUnderstand What It Is That You Truly Want
Speaking of law firms, I wanted to become a lawyer from the age of 10-11. I saw and experienced so much injustice at a young age and wanted to make a change. I worked hard in school and pursued this goal intentionally until my final year of high school. I had various curricula and programs aimed at getting me into great universities.
Here’s a little secret: I never made a single duaa or prayer to Allah about becoming a lawyer. I never sought His help for anything school-related. In hindsight, it’s strange because I thought I wanted it badly. But subconsciously, I didn’t want it as much as I believed. My journals reveal that becoming a lawyer was never truly my top priority. Even in the past years up until 2024, when people ask about my plans, I still expressed I want to be a lawyer. Yet, ironically, I’ve asked God for guidance in everything else but becoming a lawyer.
Journaling Reveals Truths
Journaling has shown me that I want to pursue different paths, tailored to me. I follow my intuitive leads and my natural skills in life. Journaling reveals truths about yourself that you may not realize for years. I’ve manifested both positive and negative outcomes in my life through journaling. The negative stemmed from an unhealed state of mind and a still-developing brain. Over the past five years, I’ve learned to journal intentionally, without a filter. I write whenever I feel the urge, which can happen multiple times a day. This is why having both a physical and a digital journal is important.
How To Journal
Open a page and start writing. Seriously, if you’ve never journaled before, just begin. Life isn’t just about capturing moments through lenses; it’s about writing down your history. When you’re inspired, journaling can change your life quickly. If you’re ready for a change and commit to it, you can achieve remarkable outcomes.
My journals are mostly basic, except for the pink one from 2005, which is creatively crafted. As I grew older, I leaned towards more basic journals with space for dates and headlines.
That’s why I recently created my own journal. I needed a new one because my old ones are full. After searching all the past year for the perfect journal, I couldn’t find one that met my needs—a self-care journal. A journal that could help me keep track of my personal development journey as an adult.
Officially Introducing “A Dose Of You” Self Care Journal
2024 has been a dramatic and intense year but also a good one, I can´t complain. I want to start the new year with a fresh journal that includes what’s missing in the market. Initially, I made it for myself, but then I realized it was so good that I wanted others to have access to it. It’s not digital—perhaps in the future—but for now, it’s available as a physical journal. Creating a full book, especially one with creative intent and purpose, takes countless hours.
My journal, “A Dose of You,” is structured in a modern way but draws elements from my first journal to symbolize the impact journaling has had on my life since 2005. Each page is designed with the intention of healing, manifesting, problem-solving, gratitude, and self-awareness. It’s the perfect journal for both women and men.
I tailored it to guide natural thought patterns towards positivity, away from negative emotions and beliefs. Every ten pages contain prompts followed by note pages where you can write freely. The idea is that following each positive prompt will inspire you to journal with even more good intention and positivity. You can use this journal for goal-setting purposes, gaining clarity, expressing gratitude, and general self-care. It includes quotes, intentional questions, and blank spaces for your creativity, drawing inspiration from my 2005 journal.
The journal is priced at $27 and will be available on Amazon. With 145 pages, it can last you up to six months if you journal weekly.
Both my self-care journal “A Dose of You” and my self-help book “Find Your True Purpose: The Cheat Code in Life” are available on Amazon.
