Attracting wealth and abundance is a desire many people have. In today’s world, the concept of the “Law of Attraction” has gained significant popularity, which promotes the idea that positive thinking and intentions can manifest into reality. While this concept has roots in spiritual and psychological practices, many wonder if it aligns with Islamic values.

In this article, we will explore how to attract money in Islam using the law of attraction while maintaining a halal approach in line with Islamic principles.

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction is based on the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring corresponding experiences into a person’s life. In essence, what you focus on, whether good or bad, will manifest itself. This concept revolves around the idea that our thoughts have vibrational energy that interacts with the universe, and this energy attracts like energy. For instance, thinking about financial abundance might lead to greater financial success.

As Muslims, we believe in nothing but Allah. Relying on the “universe” itself is a form of shirk, one of the gravest sins a Muslim can commit. Today, it has become easier to fall into this sin, and shirk can cost us our hereafter. While we may not fully understand the concept of the seven laws, as they rely on supernatural forces, the seven spiritual laws of success have been studied by Muslims for centuries since Islam was first revealed.

While the law of attraction may sound like an appealing concept, for Muslims, it’s essential to make sure that such practices align with the teachings of Islam. The idea of thinking positively to achieve goals isn’t foreign to Islam, but the application must remain within the bounds of what is halal and in accordance with Islamic values.

It´s crucial for us to be very careful with believing in anything, but Allah, and that He alone is the One providing for you. The law of attracting for us Muslims, means to fully trust in Allah’s plan for you. He (swt) plans better than us, and knows what we want. We just have to think it, ask for it, live it, and have full tawakkul.

Understanding Wealth in Islam

To attract money in Islam, we must first understand what wealth is. In Islam, wealth is not seen as inherently good or bad; it is considered a test and a blessing from Allah. Wealth is something that can provide ease, allow one to give charity (sadaqah), and fulfill obligations, but it should never become an obsession or a goal in and of itself. Desperation leads to destruction of the mind. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reminded us to view wealth as a means, not an end.

The Quran and Hadith offer many guidelines on earning wealth ethically:

  • Halal Sources of Income: Muslims are required to ensure their income is derived from permissible (halal) sources. Any form of wealth gained through dishonest or prohibited means, such as usury (riba), fraud, gambling, or selling haram (forbidden) products, is strictly forbidden in Islam.
  • Trust in Allah (Tawakkul): While striving for wealth, Muslims are encouraged to place their trust in Allah. This is not passive reliance, but active faith that involves working hard while recognizing that success ultimately comes from Allah. The Quran reminds believers: “Whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect.” (Quran 65:2-3)
  • Charity (Sadaqah) and Zakat: Charity is a pillar of Islam. Zakat, a mandatory charity for those eligible, is a purification of wealth. Beyond zakat, voluntary charity (sadaqah) is encouraged, and it’s believed to increase wealth rather than deplete it. As the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Muslim).

Given this framework, any method to attract money must be rooted in halal practices that align with these fundamental values. Anything other, can be considered as committing shirk.

Islamic Perspective on the Law of Attraction

The principles behind the law of attraction — focusing on goals, maintaining positive energy, and working towards a better future — can align with Islam if understood properly. Here are key ways to adapt the law of attraction Islamically and attract halal wealth:

1. Intention (Niyyah)

In Islam, everything starts with intention. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Actions are judged by intentions, and every person will get what they intended.” (Bukhari). When applying the law of attraction, it is crucial to purify your intention. Ask yourself why you want to attract money. Is it solely for personal gain, or do you intend to use it to help others, support your family, and better your community?

When you make a halal intention for wealth, your efforts toward earning will be rewarded both in this world and in the hereafter. A clear, sincere intention ensures that your actions align with Islamic teachings. Allah will shower you with wealth if done correctly.

2. Gratitude (Shukr)

Gratitude is a significant concept in both the law of attraction and Islam. In the law of attraction, focusing on what you already have is believed to attract more abundance. Islamically, gratitude is a form of worship. Allah says in the Quran: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]” (Quran 14:7).

Being thankful for what you have not only attracts more blessings but also helps you stay humble and grounded. By expressing gratitude regularly, you are acknowledging Allah’s blessings and positioning yourself to receive more. Attract money in Islam through your gratification towards what you already have. Be as grateful as you can for everything Allah has provided you with.

3. Supplication (Duaa)

A central principle of Islam is that everything happens by the will of Allah, and nothing can occur without His permission. Making duaa (supplication) is an important way to ask Allah for sustenance and wealth. Duaa is a form of communication with Allah, and there are specific duaa for increasing wealth.

While the law of attraction emphasizes visualizing and affirming your desires, Muslims can enhance this by incorporating duaa, asking for halal rizq (provision), and trusting that Allah will provide in the best way. A popular duaa for wealth is:

“O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful (halal) against what You have made unlawful (haram), and make me independent of all others besides You.”

As Ramadan approaches, take the full month to ask for increased wealth in this life and the hereafter. Duaa can change qadar, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Make sure you practice diligently during this time. Don’t hesitate to raise your hands and ask Allah for everything you desire. If it’s written for you to be poor in this life, duaa can change your qadar. Ramadan is the best month to alter your destiny by Allah’s will. However, it requires pure intentions, as intention is everything.

4. Effort and Reliance on Allah

The law of attraction advocates for action alongside positive thinking. Islam emphasizes the same balance. In Islamic teachings, reliance on Allah (tawakkul) does not mean passivity. Rather, it requires you to make a sincere effort while trusting that the results are in Allah’s hands.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be given provision like the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.” (Tirmidhi). This hadith shows that effort (like the bird searching for food) combined with reliance on Allah leads to sustenance. Therefore, while applying the law of attraction, one must work hard in permissible ways to attract money in Islam.

5. Avoiding Negative Thoughts (Waswasa)

The law of attraction teaches the importance of avoiding negative thoughts, as they can manifest into negative experiences. In Islam, avoiding harmful thoughts is also crucial, but the emphasis is on avoiding waswasa (whispers from Shaytan). Waswasa can create feelings of hopelessness or greed, leading individuals away from the remembrance of Allah.

When striving to attract money in Islam, it is essential to maintain a balance. Greed can lead to sinful actions, while despair may prevent someone from working towards success. By rejecting these negative influences and maintaining a focus on halal earnings, you attract positive outcomes both spiritually and materially.

Conclusion: Attract Money in Islam the Halal Way

Incorporating the law of attraction into an Islamic framework can be done in a halal and ethical way. Islam encourages positive thinking, gratitude, making duaa, and trusting in Allah’s plans. By ensuring that your intentions are pure and that your methods for attracting wealth align with Islamic values, you can manifest abundance while staying true to your faith.

Remember, money or wealth is not the ultimate goal in Islam. It is a tool for living a good life, fulfilling obligations, helping others, and earning Allah’s pleasure. When used correctly, wealth becomes a means to draw closer to Allah. So, whether you’re visualizing financial success or working hard to achieve your goals, always seek the pleasure of Allah, and trust that He will provide what is best for you.

Hello! I'm Nasreen, the Chief Editor and founder of IHF. Ana Sudania. My passions include health, travel, and beauty/fashion. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, spending time in solitude, people-watching, laughing, and fitness. I often explore themes of spirituality, personal development, Islamic wisdom, and worldly matters from an introspective point of view. Since I was 16, I've been involved in various ventures, including founding a travel agency and an organization for minority youth in my local area. My experiences traveling through Europe and living in Los Angeles have shaped my mindset and taught me valuable life lessons and business insights.
